Advisory: Patching the Critical PHP2Shell Vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618)

A series of critical Remote Code Execution (RCE) flaws, known collectively as PHP2Shell, were recently disclosed, affecting roughly 70% of web environments. If left unpatched, these vulnerabilities allow unauthenticated attackers to execute malicious code directly on the host server. For studios running high-availability applications, securing server infrastructure immediately is paramount to preventing data compromise.
We recently migrated our internal studio infrastructure and our live sports platform, Buds Alley Odds, to PHP version 8.3.36 to fully mitigate these risks. If your website or application environment is running an older, unpatched runtime (including end-of-life engines like PHP 7.4 or early 8.x branches), a version migration should be executed immediately.
Balancing strict security patches with live production uptime can be complex. If you need an experienced engineering partner to handle your server patching, database backups, or legacy PHP migrations securely, start a conversation with us today.
